About Michelle Dvorchak M Ed., NCC, LPC

Prior to joining Sanderson Psychological, I spent the past 14 years in the education field as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Graphic Design in 2005 and continued my education to earn a Masters of Education in Counselor Education in 2008. I started working in 2008 as an Elementary School Counselor for grades K-6. After 7 exciting years, I moved to the high school level where I was able to work with young adults and teenagers focused on their future career or college opportunities.

Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to work with individuals who were faced with a variety of difficult situations including those with anxiety, depression, anger management, emotional abuse, stress management, social skills, behavior issues, attention disorders, wellness, self-esteem, self-harm and intellectual disabilities. I gained a wealth of personal and professional experience working through each situation and apply those lessons learned to provide the best possible interactions with my clients.

In my personal life, having a daughter with special needs has also given me perspective and enabled me to approach each engagement with empathy and an open mind. The therapeutic approaches I utilize include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused and person-centered therapy.

My goal as a counselor is completely centered around the needs and desired outcomes of my clients. Each engagement is different, but we will work together to determine the best approach and path forward towards a successful result and an overall positive outcome.

I am a wife, a mother, and an owner of an ornery golden retriever. I have a large extended family and enjoy spending time with them as much as possible. I love taking walks, exercising and of course, shopping.
