Miranda Gray, MSW, LCSW
Hello there! My name is Miranda Gray. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I completed my masters in social work in 2019 at the University of Pittsburgh. I started my career in a hospital based setting working with mothers and families who had a child in neonatal intensive care. I have also had years of experience working in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization mental health settings with specialized care for women and adolescents. I have taken all of these experiences to build my knowledge and further help those I work with through a holistic approach.
In our sessions we will collaboratively look at mi nd, body and spirituality as it relates to optimizing your well-being. I tailor sessions and therapeutic approaches based on your individual needs and goals. The therapeutic approaches I often utilize are person centered, psychodynamic, and attachment-based therapy. I think it's important for clients to better understand self through looking into unconscious drives and emotions and past experiences in childhood to better understand current problems and patterns. This also increases an awareness and understanding of one's emotions. I also utilize dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches as they are helpful in giving clients a skill based set of tools to better cope with life stressors and at times things we cannot change.
I have experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, life transitions, grief and loss, personality disorders, self harm behaviors, self-esteem issues, sexual abuse, and interpersonal relationship needs. I believe in creating a safe and validating therapeutic space and using a little humor along the way.
In my time outside of work I enjoy spending time with my spouse, family, and friends. I loveto travel and experience new places and cultures. I also enjoy exercise and movement as Ithink they are essential to overall well being.
