Shaun Mewes, M.S.Ed., LPC, NCC
I am a compassionate and dedicated professional counselor committed to helping individuals find healing, personal growth, and meaning within themselves. I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Carlow University. I have been a therapist since 2018.
I employ a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Existential Therapy, tailoring my approach to meet each person’s unique needs. As a generalist, I have worked effectively with individuals from all walks of life and strive to meet the needs of anyone seeking services. I believe in the transformative power of therapy and the innate resilience within everyone. By bringing my genuine self into sessions, we can create the space necessary to challenge unhelpful ideas and explore uncomfortable topics in a way that allows individuals to feel safe.
As a lifelong student, my academic interests revolve around identity formation and meaning-making in our lives. Understanding the complexities of self-discovery and the human experience helps me better support clients on their unique paths. In my personal life, I enjoy activities that help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance. I am an avid runner, hiker, gamer, and I enjoy sports of all kinds.
Please feel free to reach out to schedule a session or to learn more about how I can support you on your path to well-being.
