Heather Beech, MS, LPC, NCC

For the past 20 years, I've worked in the behavioral health field, joining others on their journeyto improve their lives. After earning my Masters in Community Counseling from Cal U of PA inin 2011, I obtained my license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2014. For the past15 years I have worked with clients presenting with substance use, relationship issues, mooddisorders, and grief and loss concerns.

Many clients share in a first session that they have delayed making an initial appointment forone reason or another. I encourage anyone continuing to delay this choice, to take the nextstep. Making the decision to move forward with therapy can be life changing. Ultimately, thisjourney is a collaborative process which is most beneficial when clients are actively workingtowards their goals outside of therapy sessions.

The foundation of effective therapy is contingent on building initial rapport. Once established, our work together will focus on identifying goals, collaborating on methods for change andevaluating progress. We will utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical BehaviorTherapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as evidence-based treatment models, guiding our work.

When I'm not working, I rejuvenate by spending time with family and friends-in Pittsburgh ortraveling to new places. I find balance in practicing yoga, spending time in nature and taking mycorgi pup on new adventures.
