Heather Beech, MS, LPC, NCC

For the past 20 years, I've worked in the behavioral health field, joining others on their journey to improve their lives. After earning my Masters in Community Counseling from Cal U of PA in 2011, I obtained my license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2014. For the past 15 years I have worked with clients presenting with substance use, relationship issues, mood disorders, and grief and loss concerns.

Many clients share in a first session that they have delayed making an initial appointment for one reason or another. I encourage anyone continuing to delay this choice, to take the next step. Making the decision to move forward with therapy can be life changing. Ultimately, this journey is a collaborative process which is most beneficial when clients are actively working towards their goals outside of therapy sessions.

The foundation of effective therapy is contingent on building initial rapport. Once established, our work together will focus on identifying goals, collaborating on methods for change and evaluating progress. We will utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as evidence-based treatment models, guiding our work.

When I'm not working, I rejuvenate by spending time with family and friends-in Pittsburgh or traveling to new places. I find balance in practicing yoga, spending time in nature and taking my corgi pup on new adventures.
