Isabel Massella, M.S.
My name is Isabel Massella and I work as a pre-licensed mental health counselor with Sanderson Psychological. I obtained my undergraduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania in psychology and criminal justice, and Master's degree in the area of counseling from Penn West University (still CalU). I am passionate about being an advocate for mental health wellness/accessibility in rural communities and those with limited accessibility. It is my goal to work toward dissolving the social stigma associated with mental health treatment.
I have always been drawn to the counseling profession because I believe we as humans have an innate ability to provide support for each other and become resilient to situations out of our control. It is my goal to work collaboratively with people to identify and overcome difficult aspects of life in a manner that works for them individually. I believe counseling is a very individualized experience, so my style of counseling involves multiple approaches and methods that are best suited to each person. With that being said, I typically like incorporating both person-centered/humanistic and cognitive-based interventions but like to be mindful of what best works for individuals.
My focus is working with individuals of all ages who experience various mental health challenges but especially those who have experiences with anxiety, depression, self-harm, and trauma.
