Jessica Baumann, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Jessica Baumann is a board- certified Psychiatric -Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP-BC) who is committed to emphasizing on therapeutic communication and establishing a collaborative engagement with patients. Dr. Baumann believes in honoring each person's story, understanding their needs, and assisting them as they embark on their mental health journey. While utilizing a strong trauma- informed evidence based approach , she is dedicated to providing holistic, inclusive care to all patients across the life span.
Dr. Baumann earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duquesne University in 2013and her PMHNP-BC from the University of Cincinnati in 2021. She also has 27 years of clinical experience in the field of mental health nursing, addiction, and crisis intervention. Dr. Baumann has practiced throughout the areas of inpatient, outpatient, as well as in emergency room services. Clinical care has always been a staple of her career as evidenced by her 17 year long devotion to working at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Where she provides care to Veterans experiencing a multitude of disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, Bipolar, ADHD, and addiction. In addition she has acted as both an adjunct and part-time professor at various universities, sharing her passion for nursing and continuing education on many platforms. Most recently, she has had the opportunity to work with treatment resistant depression patients providing transcranial magnetic stimulation and esketamine treatments.
She is especially passionate about and committed to providing culturally affirming care to all patients especially the neurodivergent as well as the LGBTQ populations. Recognizing the path to mental health is difficult and often hard to begin, she ensures a judgement free, safe, welcoming space always.
When she is not working, Jessica loves live music, traveling to new places, and experiencing different food. She enjoys spending time with her friends and two grown sons. However, at the end of the day she can often be found relaxing on her porch.
