Clearances

Psychological clearances refer to the process of ensuring that a person is emotionally and mentally fit to undertake certain responsibilities, activities, or roles—especially those that may involve high stress, risk, or pressure. The aim is to make sure that a person’s mental and emotional well-being is stable enough to handle the demands of a specific situation, whether that be a job, a critical decision, or even returning to work after a period of illness. The process involves assessments or evaluations by mental health professionals to gauge things like emotional resilience, coping mechanisms, stress tolerance, and overall mental health. Clearances are seen as a supportive, protective step for both the individual and those around them to promote safety, well-being, and long-term mental health.

Bariatric Clearance

A bariatric evaluation is an important first step for anyone considering weight loss surgery or other medical interventions to address obesity. A clearance is aimed at optimizing the chances for a positive outcome for this major life decision. It is also an opportunity to create a therapeutic relationship that can support you throughout the process.

During your clearance with us, you will work with a counselor who specializes in helping people prepare for weight-loss surgery. They can identify and assess risk factors that could make it hard for you to make the lifestyle changes you need to lose weight and keep it off long-term.

The clearance process usually takes 1-3 sessions; however, it is optional to continue before and after the weight-loss procedure. The Bariatric Clearance can be done virtually or in person. We offer same week appointments and the clearances are always sent a few days after completion of the visit(s).

We look forward to helping you on this journey!

Military Clearance

A psychological military clearance is an assessment used to evaluate whether someone is mentally and emotionally fit for military duties, particularly in roles that come with high stress or involve sensitive responsibilities. The purpose is to ensure that individuals have the mental resilience and stability needed for the intense and sometimes dangerous situations they might face.

These assessments are designed to help identify any areas where a person might need additional support or resources so they can receive the help they need before stepping into high-stress roles. It's about safety, both for the individual and for the team they’ll be working with.
