Katelyn Dougherty, M.S., LAPC., NCC

Hello, I am Katelyn Dougherty and am looking forward to hearing your story! I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with young adults, adults, and couples experiencing a wide range of life stressors: transition to adulthood, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self esteem issues, peer relationships, and stress. I approach my sessions using an array of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral perspective (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These interventions are used to guide my clients in challenging and restructuring thoughts, in order to approach any situation and take control of how to react to it along with using skills to implement in order to change unwanted behaviors. I believe as a therapist empathy and humor can play vital roles when it comes to developing a therapeutic relationship. I incorporate these different styles as well into my sessions as they also have a big part in making up who I am as a person as well. I am looking forward to supporting you on your mental health journey!
