Megan Krusienski, M.S., LPC
I am a licensed professional counselor with experience working in helping professions for 5 years and experience as a stay at home mom for 3 years. In 2014, I completed my Bachelor's in Art Therapy with minors in Psychology and Human Development at Carlow University. In 2017, I completed my Master's in Professional Counseling at Carlow University. During my Master's, I interned at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic to counsel adults and adolescence with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and addiction to alcohol and substances.
In my years of counseling, I've found my niche in working with women; especially those in need during the transition into motherhood. Perinatal and postpartum depression affects approximately 1 in 7 women and anxiety affect's approximately 1 in 5. I feel it is my purpose to help these mothers build a solid foundation in motherhood and be able to look back upon those early months and years fondly. In the past, I have helped mothers to regain their confidence, to prepare for child birth, learning to breastfeed, to cope with sleep deprivation, parenting, with mother's struggling to find resources due to low income or medically fragile children. I like to get creative with my approach and collaborate with my clients to find healing and restore balance in their lives. We may use approaches such as CBT, person-centered, humanistic, experiential, motivational interviewing and trauma informed therapy.
Outside of helping others, my passions are for mothering my own two children, beach vacations with my family, gardening, reading, interior decorating, hiking, and swimming. I am always looking for holistic and nontoxic improvements for myself and my family's lifestyle as I believe that is an integral part of overall health.
