Brooke Sanderson, PsyD
Owner and Licensed Psychologist
Hi!
I’m the owner of Sanderson Psychological and a Licensed Psychologist. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Penn State University, and went on to receive both my Master of Science in Professional Counseling and my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Carlow University. After spending several years in solo private practice, founding Sanderson Psychological has truly been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I’m grateful to work alongside such hardworking, compassionate people, and I’m incredibly proud of the care we provide and the practice we’ve built together.
During my training, I had the privilege of working with diverse college student populations while completing practicum hours at both California University of Pennsylvania’s Counseling Center and Carnegie Mellon University’s Counseling and Psychological Services. I later completed an APPIC-accredited internship at Cleveland State University’s Counseling Center.
Over the years, I’ve helped individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, sexual and gender identity concerns, personality and thought disorders, grief and loss, parenting challenges, trauma, and all forms of abuse. I’ve also worked with clients navigating substance use and addictions (including gambling, sex, internet, and video games), self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, spiritual struggles, abortion-related concerns, sleep issues, family conflict, couples counseling, infidelity, divorce, chronic pain, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral concerns in children.
I have a strong passion for supporting new mothers and love helping parents navigate the complex, beautiful, and often challenging journey of raising children. I also deeply value my work with adolescents and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love being active, chasing around my little boys, and—just as much—staying up too late binge-watching TV shows. I’m a big nature and animal lover and truly believe that snuggling with pets can help heal some of what ails you. <3
